About Me
As the founder of Finding Peace Counseling Services, I welcome you to explore counseling services. I hold my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where I first began working with adolescents with behavioral issues and co-occurring disorders. From there, I expanded my experience to include work in various treatment settings. I have worked in outpatient, inpatient, residential treatment, private practice, and schools. My experience has been with both adolescents and adults. I spent many years working in residential treatment primarily with women who were working through various challenges including trauma, substance use, mental health, self-esteem, and more. My time in outpatient settings included work focused on addictions, anger management, processing groups, and mental health. Along with being a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am a National Certified Counselor, and a certified Student Assistance Counselor in the state of New Jersey.
As a therapist I use humor, warmth, directness, and compassion to create rapport. Building a long-lasting therapeutic relationship is invaluable. I enjoy working with older adolescents, young adults, and adults, utilizing CBT skills, a humanistic approach, psychodynamic framework, and diversity to help you find peace and balance in your life. I believe that therapy is not a one-sized-fits-all approach and work with each person as the individual. No two sessions may ever feel the same, however, I think that's helpful in keeping client's engaged in the process. Each session I believe that we can continue to build on what we have the session before and explore deeper while having a few laughs and warm moments along the way. I offer a non-judgmental space to truly let clients "just-be".
